Once again a big thank you to the staff at Raniban for making our stay as wonderful and amazing as always. Thank you again Pradeep for being such a great host and doing your best to accommodate all our requests.  The mountain view rooms are amazing. The rooms are well equipped with clean linen, hot water and great views. One of best views in Pokkara.  The restaurant has a good menu, reasonably priced and the service is great !  Also they now have a road straight up to Raniban Retreat, so don't worry about the 500 steps.  We always look forward to coming to Raniban not just for the view but to see you again. Thank you also to Newraj for your patience and great service. You guys at Raniban are fantastic, making our stay that much more enjoyable and wanting to visit again. See you all next year!

I loved my stay here. This place is an ideal getaway for people looking to rest relax and enjoy nature at best. This retreat is located a short uphill from Pokhara's famous World Peace Stupa ad offers excellent views. On clear days you can see full panoramic views of the Annapurna Mountains, the western Pame side, Fewa lake and southern side of Pokhara. With such a view, you wont even need to travel to Sarangkot early morning for the sunrise view as you can see everything from the hotel location. Very environmentally friendly place this is and they do not have Air conditioning in rooms. Rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. Always keep your door closed to avoid critters and other insects. You are right by very lush, green forested area and will hear crickets, birds and insects all the time. Much better than any city noise or commotion of crowded touristy places. The Road getting up there is little rough but they are working on it. Still it is a very good scenic drive getting up here. You can choose to get here by car, or get dropped off little below to take a good 15 minute hike. We opted to hike and let the car take our luggage to the hotel. If the road was muddy and bad for the car, the staff would come down to wherever possible to carry the guests luggage. Also I met many guest that crossed the Fewa Lake and arrived here after a good days hike. Another part of the adventure. Staff were excellent. They always asked if you needed anything with a smile. Food was very good. The menu is limited as the location is quite remote but all food they offered was simple, clean and healthy. With such a restful ambience and so much lush nature and views around, I enjoyed food there. My big appreciation to Mr Rakesh, the manager here who was always available and make sure the clients were taken care of. Your hospitality was perfect.

When I read the reviews about the 522 steps to the retreat, I was a little apprehensive about booking. However the photos taken by other visitors got the better of me despite there were other places at high grounds to give you similar BUT not the same view. Here you get not only the view of the Himalayas but also the view of the Fewa Lake, The Pokhara city and the World Peace Pagoda amidst an amazing sunrise. The views of the Himalaya was nothing spectacular in the afternoon on arrival and was told that the best was in the morning. Sunset was not bad but the best was sunrise. Whilst the Sunrise is at around 6.45a I got up at 6am to ensure I get the changing landscape. Glad I did and that made the stay worth it. This was on the roof top of the restaurant. I got the mountain view and the view was just amazing but as I enjoyed most views from the roof top, my next trip will be in the cheaper room types. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Call ahead upon landing so they will send a porter down to help with the luggage. Breakfast with the Amazing view of the Himalayas was breathtaking. It promotes itself as an eco lodge and hence does not have TV nor Heater, night life is non existent and being far from downtown you will probably sleep early. Not a place I would suggest for family with kids but solo or couples would be great especially if you are someone who would sit there for hours just absorbing the view.

The photos of the view are legit! This place is a ways out of town, which was perfect for us. The staff here was better than any 5 star hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We got caught in a rain storm a ways away and they sent a staff person to greet us with umbrellas. They were happy to arrange transportation into town. This is a perfect oasis. And the views, oh the views! We woke up before sunrise to see the mountains and they didn’t disappoint!

Love adventure? Drive up to Raniban for the best view of pokhara (period) Sava and I had an amazing night at the Raniban and woke up feeling proud to be Nepali traveling Nepal. Great hospitality too.
